Individual Consultancy-National Experts for conducting a desk review of literature on GLOF Projects from three other regional countries

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Through coordination with NPM, UNDP and the Climate Change Division; develop a plan of action for the scheduled task
  • Conduct a desk review of the existing research studies regarding GLOF issues in Bhutan, Nepal and China.
  • Conduct a detailed analysis of the online available reports and projects of the GLOF issues of all three mentioned countries and abstract best practices, strategies and programmes.
  • Develop a comparison of the best lessons drawn from these countries with the programmes of Pakistan GLOF Project and develop recommendations.
  • Develop a detailed draft report and submit to the Project Management, Climate Change Division and the UNDP.
  • Obtain the feedback and input of the key stakeholders and audiences through project staff and incorporate the received feedback in the draft report.
  • Submit both hard and soft copies of the final report.

Period of Assignment/Services: Two months from signing of the contract (60 days).

Pakistan's One UN Programme (OP I) was signed on 4 February 2009 in the presence of the UN Secretary General and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Initially for a two-year period from 2009 to 2010, OP I was extended until December 2012 by mutual agreement of the Government of Pakistan and the UN.
