Individual Consultancy-National Consultant for Developing Case Studies on Biodiversity

Duties and Responsibilities: Lack of documentation on GLOF and Climate Change Impacts on Biodiversity and Ecosystems is one of the gaps in policy formulation, design and implementation of the interventions regarding Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. The documentation of the impact of GLOF on Biodiversity and Ecosystems will help researchers and practitioners in better planning and management of natural disasters and will improve community preparedness to respond to any such disasters in future.

The Pakistan GLOF Project seeks services of an Individual National Expert for conducting two case studies one for Booni and Golain valleys in Chitral and the other  at Sosot and Darkut valleys in Ghizar district of Gilgit-Baltistan on “Impact of GLOF on Biodiversity in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral”.

Period of Assignment/Services: Three months from signing of the contract (90 days).

Pakistan's One UN Programme (OP I) was signed on 4 February 2009 in the presence of the UN Secretary General and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Initially for a two-year period from 2009 to 2010, OP I was extended until December 2012 by mutual agreement of the Government of Pakistan and the UN.
