  • Reforms And Innovation In Government For High Performance

The Government of Pakistan recognizes institutional reform and modernization of the public sector as one of the pillars of development and growth framework. To actualize this vision, the Ministry of Planning Development & Reform (MoPDR) proposed a project for enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and accountability of the public sector through institutional change and robust performance management

  • Strengthening Electoral and Legislative Processes

The Strengthening Electoral and Legislative Processes (SELP) Project seeks to develop more inclusive, and accountable democratic institutions, systems and processes. It improves the supply side of governance by enhancing the capacity of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the Senate and Provincial Assemblies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan. Moreover, it supports the demand side by developing the capacity of civil society in advocacy and civic engagement. Increasing the representation of women, youth, and minorities, the project informs all aspects of programming.

  • Strengthening Rule of Law Programme

The Strengthening Rule of Law Programme (SRLP) supports both supply and demand sides of the rule of law by strengthening justice institutions and citizen rights, and by deepening the ongoing efforts to secure peace and stability in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The SRLP has recently expanded its geographical outreach to the other parts of Pakistan, i.e. Newly Merged Districts (formerly Federally Administered Tribal Areas), Balochistan. Mapping the trust and confidence of the donors’ community, national counterpart and communities, the SRLP is on the road to emerge a national level programme.

  • Decentralisation & Local Governance

The Decentralization and Local Governance project aims to strengthen participatory federalism and decentralization against the backdrop of the 18th Amendment to the Constitution (2010) which devolved significant powers from the Centre. The project views the 18th Amendment through a governance, development and public policy lens and identifies strategic areas of intervention to help manage the devolution process at federal, provincial and local levels. The project aims to assist in developing institutional mechanisms to strengthen effective service delivery for peace and development, and ultimately contribute towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
