Pakistan’s growing population poses a serious threat to food insecurity
ISLAMABAD: The 14th Annual Research Conference with theme ‘Pakistan’s Population: New Realities and Challenges for Human Development’ was informed here on Wednesday that Pakistan’s growing population also poses a serious threat to food insecurity.
According to the recent National Nutrition Survey around 60% of Pakistan’s total population is facing food insecurity. In these households, 50% of the women and children were found to be malnourished. The Population Association of Pakistan (PAP), in collaboration with National University of Science and Technology (NUST) is holding its 14th Annual Research Conference from the 20 – 21 November, 2013 at NUST, Islamabad. This year conference theme is “Pakistan’s Population: New Realities and Challenges for Human Development”.
