FATA Transition and Recovery

UNDP Pakistan is supporting the efforts of the Government of Pakistan by investing in the rehabilitation of basic services and infrastructure, in improving access to quality education and supporting skills development and livelihoods restoration. UNDP’s support to the Government of Pakistan aims to ensure that all people displaced by conflict are able to return safely, voluntarily and sustainably to their areas of origin in the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Youth Empowerment

UNDP is working with the Government of Pakistan as well as directly with marginalized youth and other stakeholders to ensure that equal opportunities exist for all youth to participate in Pakistan’s social, economic development processes so that all youth feel an empowered part of the society with a stage in its future. UNDP is adopting a multi-pronged strategy that aims to create a facilitating environment for youth in conflict affected areas of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to emerge as agents of positive change and development.

Boosting Eco-Tourism

UNDP is supporting the Department of Tourism, Sports, Culture, Architecture, and Youth Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in setting up camping villages across the province.  UNDP is promoting tourism to revitalize the economy of the region by providing lucrative and sustainable employment and business opportunities to the local population, especially the youth


Accelerating Progress on the SDGs

UNDP is providing demand-driven skills development in Balochistan by facilitating employment generation, particularly in the context of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and encouraging youth entrepreneurship. UNDP aims to create partnerships between large companies and medium/small-scale suppliers, creating important value chains. Support is also provided to increase the competitiveness of small and medium scale enterprises in some targeted areas.
